Rolling Stones star Mick Jagger is back to rocking best after heart scare

Mick Jagger bounced back on stage in peak condition just two months after life-saving heart surgery.

The Rolling Stones singer, 75, told the crowd jokingly at the start of a 16-date US tour: “The first night is always slightly wobbly.”

But Sir Mick showed no wobbles in the legendary band’s first concert since his op forced them to cancel and reschedule their original itinerary.

He performed at full power during the 90-minute Chicago gig – sprinting, spinning and showing his signature dance moves.

His vintage, rolling-back-the-years display gave no sign that he had a heart valve replaced in April.

There was not even a mention of the op that led to the No Filter tour being postponed as doctors made Jagger rest.

Instead, the father-of-eight had the capacity crowd at Soldier Field – home to the Chicago Bears football team – in his palm as he chatted between songs on Friday.

The Stones, formed 57 years ago and playing their 38th Chicago gig, opened with Street Fighting Man.

Then the band – with guitarists Keith Richards, 75, and Ronnie Wood, 72, plus drummer Charlie Watts, 78 – blasted out a stream of their other classics.

Among them were Start Me Up, Jumpin’ Jack Flash and close-out second encore (I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction.

Thrilled fans included mum-of-one Danielle Finn, from Milwaukee, who said: “Given what he went through, it was mind-boggling to see Mick bound about as
energetic as ever at 75.”

Brit Fran Walsh, who lives in Chicago, said: “Sometimes you can get what you want.”
