Two children injured as rollercoaster comes off track at Scottish fun park

Emergency services have raced to the scene of a Scottish adventure park after a rollercoaster derailed from its track.

Pictures from Landmark Adventure Park in Aviemore show what appears to be a carriage hanging off the side of the track after coming loose today, Thursday August 12.

It has been reported by the Daily Record that ambulance teams are in attendance.

Two chidren suffered minor injuries in the incident. They were treated at the scene.

It is understood that the rollercoaster affected is the Runaway Timber Train.

Video from the scene shows a fire engine also in attendance, and it is not yet known if there have been any injuries.

Police were called to reports of a mechanical failure on board the ride at the Landmark Adventure Park in Aviemore around 11.30am on Thursday August 12.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "We were called out at half 11am to a report of a carriage on a rollercoaster suffering mechanical failure.

"Two children suffered minor injuries and were treated at the scene.

"We remain on-scene at the moment and inquiries are continuing."
