A spooky carnival is setting up shop in Wanniassa just in time for Halloween.
Ian and Connie Warburton are once again bringing some ghoulish fun to their Osmand Street home for Halloween this weekend. Every year, the couple chooses a different theme and commit 100 per cent. This year it's a spooky carnival, complete with a witch kissing booth, a skeleton-manned ticket booth and more creepy clowns than Stephen King's IT would know what to do with.
There is a slight change to the agenda, however, to ensure that the attraction is COVID safe. As well as having a Check In CBR code, all of the lolly bags will be delivered to kids via a shoot and there will be extra decorations added to the neighbours' houses for those who don't want to leave their cars. The decorations will also be up from October 31 to November 5 to help avoid crowds.
But one thing that hasn't changed is the request for donations for Canberra charity Stella Bella Light Stars Foundation, which helps brighten the lives of children living with serious and long term illnesses.
"The reason we like Stella Bella is because it's a local charity, but also, it's a charity for kids and families. Halloween is about kids and families and families having fun, so it's an ideal fit for Halloween." Ian Warburton says.
There will be a donation bucket at the Halloween House but donations can also be made at stellabellalittlestars.org.au.
