Rohit Binkar's 217, Danish Malewar's 159 not out take Vidarbha to 411

NAGPUR: Vidarbha wicketkeeper Rohit Binkar (217)slammed an attacking double century, while mainstay Danish Malewar cracked unbeaten 159 to give Vidarbha a promising start against Bihar on Day-1 of Cooch Behar Trophy encounter in Patna.

Both the batters notched-up their second consecutive century and propelled Vidarbha to 411 for 3 in 90.4 overs. Rohit became third Bihar victim when he got run out in the last over of the day. Rohit was unlucky to get out as he could not do anything to save himself.

It was a straight drive from Danish that kissed fingers of the bowlers and the ball went and hit the stump and Rohit was found standing just outside the crease.

"I had told him to bat as long as possible and look for a triple century. He should show his talent by converting centuries into big knocks. It would keep him in contention for the next prospects," said his coach Sanjog Binkar.

It was Rohit's (217; 264b, 13x4, 11x6) first-ever double ton. Danish compiled the third century of this tournament.

Their 337-run partnership tested Bihar bowlers for 2.5 sessions. The elevel sixes that Rohit hit even before completing his 150 sent the rivals to the wall.

Rohit came into this match after scoring 180 against Haryana in the last match. Danish had also scored 110 and they were involved in an 181-run partnership in the encounter played in Hisar.
