The agent of Sassuolo left-back Rogerio is hoping that a deal will be pushed through in the next few days.
Rogerio’s representative has briefed the media in Italy that a deal is “almost done” although Newcastle United officials are yet to stand up the claims tonight.
Should the £12.5million deal go through the agent of the player would be in for a pay day for the 22-year-old.
Newcastle sent Steve Nickson to Italy to watch the left-back before lockdown and Steve Bruce is eager to bring players through the door.
Indeed, United are under growing pressure to sign players before the big kick off.
And on with the eve of the new season just a week away, Bruce would like Rogerio, Ryan Fraser and Callum Wilson in the next few days.
But as fans will point out - United are notoriously slow-paced when it comes to getting deals done.
