After NFL owners had a virtual meeting on Thursday, commissioner Roger Goodell announced during a conference call that the league is planning to have training camps start on time next month.
Goodell said the league is aiming to start camp on time and then “get ready for games at our stadiums and to engage our fans both in stadiums and through our media partners,” according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.
Jeff Pash, the NFL’s executive vice president, echoed Goodell’s message. Pash said teams have been told that training camps are expected to open “on the normal schedule,” according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
For the Denver Broncos, that means veterans are expected to start camp on Tuesday, July 28. Rookies usually report to camp a few days early.
After two and a half weeks of training camp, the Broncos will open preseason against the San Francisco 49ers on Saturday, Aug. 15. Denver’s complete 2020 preseason schedule can be viewed here.
