Roger Federer returns to Hopman Cup in 2019

Twenty-time grand slam winner Roger Federer will return to Perth at the end of the year to once again compete at the Hopman Cup.

The Swiss legend will reunite with compatriot Belinda Bencic to defend their 2018 title.

It will be Federer's third straight year at the tournament.

He went on to win the Australian Open men's title in both 2017 and 2018.

He also represented Switzerland at the event in 2001 and 2002.

Last year's runner-up German combination of Alexander Zverev and Angelique Kerber has also been confirmed for the tournament, due to take place at the end of December.

Representatives from six other nations, including Australia, are yet to be finalised.
