Rogano shuts down speculation restaurant is permanently closed

Rogano has shut down rumours that it has permanently closed its doors.

Speculation on social media that the iconic Glasgow restaurant was up for sale has also been denied by management.

Rogano stated it is undergoing a "period of restructuring" due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Last month it was confirmed that Lynnet Leisure, who own Rogano, Bread + Butter, Citation, The Chippy Doon the Lane, One Up and 29 Glasgow were in consultation with their staff.

However, management has said that following the restructure and a refurbishment of the restaurant, Rogano will reopen in 2021.

Lynn Mortimer, MD of Lynnet Leisure, said: “Like a number of restaurant groups we are currently going through a period of restructuring as a result of the devastating impact Covid 19 has had on business.

"Following completion of that programme it out our intent that Rogano, following a refurbishment, will open again at some point in 2021. We can confirm the restaurant is not for sale."
