Nottingham Forest's latest signing Rodrigo Ely has sent the club's supporters a message on social media.

The defender's arrival at the City Ground was announced on Thursday (September 2), taking Forest's tally of summer signings to 10.

The 27-year-old central defender has penned a one-year contract with Chris Hughton's side, having joined on a free transfer.

£4m deal collapse

Nottingham Forest were reportedly set to complete the signing of Bordeaux striker Josh Maja on transfer deadline day.

The Reds had a £4m bid accepted by the French side and the 22-year-old was due to fly to England to finalise the deal, according to French outlets.

But the move fell through at a last minute - and now Bordeaux president Gerard Lopez says he has no idea why.

League fixture date change

Nottingham Forest have confirmed a change of date for their home Championship clash with leaders Fulham.

The match was originally due to take place on Saturday, October 23, with kick-off scheduled for 3pm.

However, the Reds have now said the game has been moved back a day to Sunday, October 24.
