Here is your Leeds United morning digest for Friday, September 4.
De Paul’s agent heads to Italy
Rodrigo De Paul’s agent is heading to Italy in the next few days to try and sort out his client’s future at Udinese, amid reported Leeds interest.
That’s according to Italian publication Tuttomercatoweb, who claim the Whites are interested in the midfielder, along with Fiorentina, AC Milan and Napoli.
As well as speaking to Udinese, De Paul’s agent is set to speak to some of the clubs interested in his client - which may include Leeds.
The 26-year-old has played 141 times over his four-year-long stay in the Serie A - scoring 24 times for Udinese in that time.
Premier League confirm £650m decision that will impact Leeds
The Premier League has terminated its contract with Chinese broadcasters PPTV, which was worth a huge £650m-a-season.
PPTV agreed the deal with the Premier League last year, but withheld a £160m payment in March, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, which has now led to the contract’s termination.
A Premier League statement read: “The Premier League confirms that it today terminated its agreements for Premier League coverage in China with its licensee in that territory.
“The Premier League will not be commenting further on the matter at this stage.”
EFL confirms fan return date
The English Football League have confirmed that supporters are set to return to stadiums for two fixtures next week as part of a test event.
Both games will take place at Cambridge United’s ground, the Abbey Stadium, with the first match being the U’s EFL Trophy tie with Fulham.
The confirmation hands Leeds supporters a massive boost, with the return to stadiums getting closer every day, it seems.
Marcelo Bielsa’s side kick off their Premier League campaign away at champions Liverpool next Saturday.
