Rodrigo de Paul appears to have confirmed his desire to move to Leeds United.
The Whites have been linked with the Udinese attacking midfielder since last month as Marcelo Bielsa looks to put the finishing touches to his squad ahead of the end of the transfer window in three weeks' time.
There has been plenty of speculation over the Argentine's future, however, with Juventus and Zenit St Petersburg both credited with interest.
He was left out of Udinese's squad for their pre-season friendly against Vicenza on Sunday night as speculation about his future rumbled on.
The 26-year-old has now appeared to have confirmed his desire to move to Leeds in a post on Twitter.
In a conversation between two fans that De Paul was tagged in, one said they had heard the player was keen on joining the Whites but that it was now down to the two clubs to come to an agreement.
De Paul replied succinctly with "Yes" followed by a fingers crossed emoji.
It was a tweet that stunned Leeds fans, garnering over 1,000 retweets in just 20 minutes as Whites' supporters were sent into meltdown.
Yet the message was soon unable to be seen, suggesting it was deleted by De Paul.
De Paul would be another big coup for the Whites having had an impressive season in Serie A last year, netting seven goals and laying on six assists.
A lower-league manager was the surprise bearer of an update in the race for De Paul earlier this week as he confirmed the Whites were looking to bring an attacker in.
Swindon Town are working on a move for Leeds youngster Jordan Stevens, and their manager Richie Wellens told the BBC: "Leeds have got an issue in terms of releasing him at the moment because they’re trying to get someone in.
"And Marcelo Bielsa doesn’t let players out very easily. He is the head of Leeds, and only his say so will release players."
