Here is your Leeds morning digest for Monday, September 28.
Udinese boss insists Leeds target is not distracted by transfer talk
Udinese coach Luca Gotti has denied suggestions that Rodrigo De Paul has had his head turned by Leeds.
The Argentine midfielder has been repeatedly linked with a move to Elland Road this summer.
Leeds remain interested but are not willing to meet Udinese’s current asking price of between €35m and €40m.
Asked if De Paul is distracted, Gotti - quoted by Inside Futbol - said: “No. I see a player aware of what he wants to do and how, when he goes onto the pitch, he gives everything he can give.”
Lineker highlights Bamford achievement after winning goal
Gary Lineker pointed out a new record set by Patrick Bamford after his winning goal against Sheffield United on Sunday.
The Leeds striker headed home with minutes remaining as the Whites recorded back-to-back Premier League victories.
And Match of the Day presenter Lineker took to Twitter to comment on Bamford’s latest achievement.
“Leeds lead,” he wrote. “Patrick Bamford scores for the third successive game. First player to do that for Leeds in the top flight for half a century.”
Leeds target wants to stay put
Leeds have been dealt a blow in their pursuit of Dan James, Sky Sports report .
The Manchester United winger intends to stay at the club and fight for a place in Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s first team.
James has fallen out of favour, with the front three of Marcus Rashford, Anthony Martial and Mason Greenwood Solskjaer’s preferred setup.
The Welshman has been linked with a loan move to Elland Road, but has reportedly informed his manager that he wants to remain at United.
Leeds are set to have made a loan offer for James, and the situation could be addressed again if United sign another winger before the close of the transfer window.
