Rodrigo breaks silence on Real Madrid speculation as he remains coy on Leeds United future

Leeds United forward Rodrigo Moreno refused to be drawn into speculation linking him with a move to Real Madrid this summer. The Spanish striker scored 15 goals in 35 appearances for the Whites last season and was the standout performer in a dismal season.

The 32-year-old enjoyed his best return at Elland Road since joining from Valencia for a £27 million fee back in 2020. Rodrigo played as a central striker for the majority of the current campaign but has played as a number ten and out on the flank during his time at Leeds.

Los Blancos are reportedly eying Rodrigo as a replacement for Mariano Diaz this summer - with the Dominican forward set to leave on a free transfer this summer. The Leeds frontman has a reported release clause of £3.5million and a number of Premier League sides are keen on his services.

Rodrigo is currently on international duty with Spain ahead of their Nations League clash with Italy and has been speaking about his future following the club's relegation from the top flight.

Speaking to Marca, the Leeds striker said: "I live in the real world, I have Instagram and friends who read the newspapers. I can't tell you much beyond what we all know because I don't know.

"I'm very focused on the National Team right now and on the next games. Then, I honestly don't know what's going to happen, but I have a contract with Leeds and that has to be respected."
