Dani Parejo has backed Rodrigo to succeed at Leeds United.
The striker is close to making a move to Elland Road from Valencia having undergone a medical, with the Spanish club confirming an agreement over a transfer has been agreed with the Whites.
It represents a statement of intent from the Whites, with Rodrigo highly regarded in Spain.
One player who knows him well is Parejo, having spent six years at Valencia with the striker.
With Valencia heavily hit by the financial crisis caused by the coronavirus pandemic, they have been forced into selling a number of their key players, with Parejo having also left for Villarreal this summer.
The former QPR winger has now wished his ex-teammate well on social media, backing him to impress in the Premier League.
"After having shared a dressing room with you for six years, Rodrigo and having created a great friendship, I know perfectly well that you are going to break it in this new adventure," he wrote on Instagram.
"I wish you the best, brother!"
The signing of Rodrigo can be considered a coup for Leeds, who are set to break their transfer record to bring the 29-year-old to Elland Road.
It has been widely reported that the Spanish international will move to the Whites in a deal worth £27m, which could potentially rise above £30m with add-ons.
Rodrigo was also Valencia's most expensive signing when he turned his loan from Benfica into a permanent deal in 2015, moving to the Mestalla for €30m.
