Rodri has sent a message to Pep Guardiola as the Manchester City manager's contract nears its end.
Guardiola's deal at City is set to expire in 2023 and he is yet to sign an extension. Whenever he has been asked about his future, the 51-year-old has refused to give anything away.
Rodri has been a key part of Guardiola's side since he was brought to the Etihad from Atletico Madrid in 2019, and the Spain international has now sent his countryman a message urging him to remain at the club. Speaking to The Times ahead of the Manchester derby, the 26-year-old said: "We all love him, he's done a great job in recent years.

"He's our manager and if he decides to stay we're all going to be so happy. I've been three years now with Pep and I hope there can be many more.
"It's a fact that coaches get tired. I saw Diego Simeone, coaches who have been 11 or 12 years with the same team, and it's understandable.
"But with this team we have for the next few years, I think Pep can see the future of this club. He has to be here. He's the perfect coach for us and we can win more things together."
If Guardiola was to walk away at the end of the season, he would leave knowing he'd helped fill City's trophy cabinet. During his spell in Manchester, he has won four Premier League titles, four League Cups, an FA Cup and two Community Shields.
The one trophy that he hasn't won at City is the Champions League, though many are tipping him to finally lead the club to European glory this season following the arrival of Erling Haaland.
