Rodri doing his homework in lockdown as Man City 'ready to enjoy football again'

Manchester City’s Rodri is using the lockdown to revise for his university exams.

Rodri is studying for a Management and Business Administration degree back home in Spain and is due to sit his exams this month.

Vincent Kompany took an MBA while at City and the Blues’ record £62.8million signing feels his course could be useful when he finishes playing.

“I have used the time to do homework for my university degree, as there are exams in a few days' time,” said the Spanish midfielder.

“I can’t say now what I’m going to do in the future, but I'm studying a degree in Management and Business Administration because it is a challenge for me to start a degree and finish it.

“It’s going to be helpful in the future one way or another. You never know. When I finish my career as a player I’d like to stay in contact with the sports world, but if it doesn’t happen, that’s fine too.”

City boss Pep Guardiola lost his mother to the coronavirus and Rodri says everyone knows someone who has been affected.

Rodri, 23, claims the City squad cannot wait to resume playing when they are told it is safe to return.

“We all have someone close, a friend or a family member, who has been touched somehow by the coronavirus, so it’s not easy,” he said.

“We all have families and friends who are going through difficult times, lots of people are losing their loved ones, so the most important thing now is to sort out the situation with the coronavirus.

“Once this situation is over, hopefully, we can all go back to our jobs and routines, but the priority now is to tackle the virus and sort out the situation.

“I’d say to Man City fans that we are very excited to play football again. We’re ready to enjoy football again and we’re just waiting for the authorities to give us the green light.”
