A school has been forced to close after a rodent problem was discovered.
Bigyn Primary School will not be open today (Friday, September 27) after the issue was discovered within its school buildings at Bigyn Park Terrace.
It has stressed the decision was made to ensure the health and safety of pupils and staff.
An urgent message was put out on its social media pages last night.

The school posted a message on its Facebook page which read: "Bigyn Primary School will be closed to pupils and staff.
"This is due to issues experienced with rodents in the school buildings. We apologise for the very short notice and realise that this may well result in inconvenience for parents/ guardians.
"However, the decision has been made due to health and safety grounds. Our most important priority is to ensure the health and safety of our pupils and staff. We will update you in due course."
Carmarthenshire Council’s director of education and children’s services, Gareth Morgans, said: “Our environmental health team visited the school this morning to offer assistance following evidence of a rodent in a store room. The school had already contracted professional services to deal with the issue, and this is proving effective.
“Possible entry points have been identified and work will be undertaken to rectify. Thorough cleansing will take place, and we envisage that the school will be open as normal on Monday. Parents are advised to check the school’s website and social media feeds for further updates.”
