Rod Stewart soaks up sunny weather on deserted Florida beach during lockdown

Sir Rod Stewart was spotted catching some rays on a beach in Florida as temperatures soared on Wednesday in the sunny U.S state.

The legendary British rocker brazenly sat himself in a sun lounger as he made the most of the deserted West Palm Beach.

Appearing in high spirits, the 75-year-old singer kicked back in bright red trainers as he topped up his dark golden tan.

He also and wore a colourful shirt and bold shorts, finishing his look off with a summer hat and shades.

The location, which is typically brimming with sun-worshippers, was completely empty.

As with a number of states, on April 1 Florida issues a Stay At Home order in a bid to stem the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

During that time, Rod and his wife Penny Lancaster, 49, have been self-distancing at their Florida mansion.

The couple are at home with their two sons Aiden, nine, Alastair, 14, and Rod's daughter from a previous marriage, Ruby, 33.

Last week, Rod and Ruby took to social media to perform a live at home concert to raise funds for the World Health Organisation (WHO).

In the clip, the duo gave viewers a sneak peek around Rod's lavish Florida mansion before playing a duet on his white piano.

At the end of the video, his two sons and wife made a surprise appearance as they all showed off their vocal skills for the camera.

"Together At Home. In case you missed it, here’s my #TogetherAtHome performance with @rubystewart, and special guests, @penny.lancaster Alastair, Aiden, and Ziggy, on behalf of @who and @glblctzn!" the musician captioned the video.

Just days after releasing the video, the U.S president faced heavy criticism after he announced he was withdrawing funding to the WHO.
