Rod Stewart snapped wearing Celtic-themed face mask while strolling around Venice

Rod Stewart has been strolling around the streets of Venice with a Celtic -themed face mask while on holiday.

The legendary crooner has been enjoying the sights of the Italian city with his wife Penny Lancaster.

Both have been abiding with the strict face coverings rules imposed by the government in Italy.

Face masks must be worn outdoors between the hours of 6pm and 6am - but people are advised to carry one around with them at all times.

The 75-year-old Celtic-daft rocker decided to wear his with the famous green and white hoops of the Parkhead side.

Penny took an Instagram snap of Rod as he swaggered around in the sunshine.

She captioned the post: “10 in a row #venice”

The social media snap has been likes more than 3,000 times since it was posted three hours ago.

A number of users praised Rod for his choice of face covering.

One said: “Loving the mask, Rod.”

Another wrote: “Love the mask. You wear it well.”

It is not the first time that Rod has been snapped sticking to the rules on face coverings. The rocker also tweeted a picture of himself wearing a leopard print one earlier this month.

But the dark colours are perhaps not the most appropriate for Venice, which is currently enjoying highs of around 30 degrees this afternoon.

Penny and Rod were also spotted going for a trip on one the city’s famed canals during the warm day.
