Rod Stewart's wife posts Celtic tribute as Green Brigade blast him with X-rated banner

Penny Lancaster has shown off her family's love for Celtic on the same day her singer husband came under fire from sections of the Parkhead faithful.

The Loose Women panalist shared a picture of her with Celtic-mad husband Rod Stewart in the club's colours and clutching a signed under nine 'Hoops' top.

A proud Penny shared the pic with her 91.5K followers on Instagram after celebrating the success of son Aiden's under nines side which plays in green and white and is named in honour of his favourite team.

She wrote: "So excited for the future of our BS ‘Hoops’ under 9’s team. Undefeated and Rod is so proud. Thanks for the extra star support of Gordon Strachan!"

    She posted on the same day Celtic fans aimed an X-rated banner at Rod Stewart during their game with Hibs, after he congratulated Boris Johnson on his General Election victory.

    Fans in the Green Brigade section unveiled an anti-Tory banner which read: "Tories not welcome, f**k off Rod"

    The stinging attack suggests a section of Celtic punters have been left unimpressed by the former Faces frontman's support for Johnson.

    Stewarts offending post on Twitter read: "Thank you once again to my legions of fans who I will never take for granted.

    "Bless you all and a Merry Christmas. Well done Robbie, well done Boris, no hard feelings Pete Townshend! - Rod xxx."
