Rod Stewart’s wife pulled a cheeky stunt at one of his concerts... tossing a pair of men’s pants on stage.
Penny Lancaster secretly hurled the undies as Sir Rod was pelted with women’s knickers – a long tradition at gigs.
Rod, 76, was baffled by the solitary pair of “horrible” men’s pants as he performed in Las Vegas.
It was only backstage that the You Wear It Well singer discovered 49-year-old Penny had pranked him. Sir Rod saw the funny side, though.
He recalled: “I was singing away in Las Vegas and a pair of men’s underpants came up. They were really horrible. It was my wife who threw ’em up! She hid in the audience and threw a pair of men’s undies up.”
Sir Rod may have been Y-fronted – but he wasn’t affronted. The singer admitted: “I’ll still have thousands of women throwing their knickers up.”
Sir Rod isn’t the only star to be pelted with lingerie, of course.
The craze started back in the 60s with the likes of Sir Tom Jones and Engelbert Humperdinck. These days, even Justin Timberlake gets his fair share of sheer.
But the novelty has worn off on The Voice coach Sir Tom, 80, who has begged fans to stop.
Rod, who has been with model Penny since 1999, revealed the pants prank on football legend Harry Redknapp’s podcast.
Soccer nut Rod was asked what he’d prefer – a gig in front of 100,000 screaming women throwing knickers, or scoring the winner for Celtic in the Champions League final.
“Oh, give me the goal, yeah,” replied the tickled singer.
