Rod Stewart's new Dublin pad worth an estimated €6.5million

Rod Stewart’s new five star pad overlooking the Aviva Stadium is worth an estimated €6.5million.

It’s thought the crooner and wife Penny Lancaster have purchased one of the most palatial properties in the Lansdowne Place development.

A source close to the 76-year-old told the Irish Mirror: “Rod has spared no expense in buying one of the top properties in Ballsbridge.

“Rod has had his eye on one of the penthouse apartments where he can expect pure luxury.”

With prices starting at €800,000 for a one-bed and rising to €6.5million for a duplex or penthouse, it’s no surprise the new building is attracting international superstars.

In the luxurious Dublin property Rod and Penny will be able to unwind in the residents’ lounge, entertain in their own private cinema or work from home using the boardroom facility.

The Lansdowne brochure reads: “An unrivalled selection of extremely spacious duplex townhouses up to 2,400 sq ft with magnificent design, luxurious finishes, private terraces and some with gardens.

“A beautifully crafted set of remarkable apartments placed within the prestigious suburb of Ballsbridge.

“Orchestrated by a world class design team and offering unprecedented amenities.”

The specification and price of properties varies depending on their size. Lansdowne Place has three penthouses, the smallest of which is a two-bed plus study unit priced at €2.15million.

The second is a tri-aspect unit, three bedrooms plus study, with a massive outside terrace space and going for €3.65million.

The rooftop penthouse is the most expensive unit in this phase.

The three-bed space, which includes a private roof-top terrace on the eighth floor, will cost €6.5million.

It’s rumoured this is the pad that Rod – worth an estimated €300million – had his eye on.

The luxury Lansdowne development is built on the 6.8-acre site of the Berkeley Court and Jurys hotels, where 12 years ago bankrupt developer Sean Dunne proposed building his controversial 37-storey tower.

Rod, who will this week announce a Dublin date as part of his global 2022 Tears Of Hercules tour, said he plans on moving into his new Dublin pad in the coming months.

Speaking to the Daily Telegraph he added: “If I get out on my balcony, I’m going to see [rugby and football]crowds on a Saturday afternoon. The oceans and beaches, it’s gorgeous.

“I love the pubs in Dublin. So I hope to move in during the next six months.”

The Scottish singer adores Ireland having performed here over the years in the RDS and the 3 Arena as well as at venues across the country.

Launching his new single One More Time, he told his Twitter fan base he believes this is his best album yet.

He added: “I’ve never said this before about any previous efforts but I believe this is by far my best album in many a year.”
