Rod Stewart celebrates Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou in his hometown during Australian tour gig

It is absolutely no secret that Rod Stewart is a huge Celtic fan and, even from the other side of the world, he is still shouting about his team from the rooftops.

Sir Rod is currently touring in Australia and last night, as part of his set in Melbourne, he projected a large photograph of Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou on screen as he sang in his infamous leopard print suit.

The rocker kicked off his tour down under this week, and as the Celtic gaffer is from Melbourne, Rod couldn't help but pay tribute to him whilst performing in his hometown.

Taking to Instagram, Rod wrote: "Nice to be in your hometown, Ange!"

And many fans who attended his gig commented on his post. One wrote: "Thank you Sir Rod! It was worth the trip from Queensland your tribute to Ukraine was brilliant."

Another penned: "Great vibes last night at the concert in Ange’s home town … can’t get much better …"

While one said: "You were brilliant last night."

Another said: "Thank you Sir Rod for an amazing show in Melbourne last night. It has been a very long 3+ years waiting to see you but you were certainly worth the wait! What an entertainer!!"

The Maggie May singer, despite living in Essex, often travels up to Glasgow to watch his beloved Hoops at Celtic Park and last month when he was up to watch the Celtic and Rangers match, he was spotted belting out Celtic songs in a local boozer.

Celebrations were in full swing for the Celtic-daft rocker as the Hoops defeated their rivals 2-1 in the Viaplay Cup Final and his son Alastair shared videos of the celebrations in Glasgow's Murphy's Irish bar on his Instagram.

Sir Rod could be seen belting out the infamous tune along with fans and putting his hands in the air as he wrapped a Celtic scarf around him.

However, when many fans sang the sweary dig at their opponents, Rod giggled as he missed out the words.
