Rod Stewart buys home in Dublin ahead of playing 3Arena gig next year

Rock and pop legend Rod Stewart has snapped up a new home in Dublin as he prepares to perform at the 3Arena next year.

Sports-mad Stewart, 76, who this week announced a Dublin date in his global tour in 2022, has said that his palatial new property has the added benefit of giving him a birds-eye view of some of the matches.

The legendary star has said that he has just bought an apartment in the heart of Dublin 4 near the Aviva stadium and hopes to move in over the next few months.

“If I get out on my balcony, I’m going to see (rugby and football) crowds on a Saturday afternoon. The oceans and beaches, it’s gorgeous,” he said.

He told the Daily Telegraph that he has been “looking for a house there for some time” and that he loves the social life in Dublin.

“I love the pubs in Dublin. So I hope to move in during the next six months,” he said.

There was huge excitement among Rod's Irish fans this week after he confirmed that he would perform a date in Dublin and one in Belfast next year as part of his The Tears Of Hercules tour.

The singer-songwriter will perform in Dublin's 3Arena on November 18 2022 and will then head up to Belfast for a show at the SSE Arena on December 20 2022.

Tickets for the shows will go on sale this upcoming Monday, November 15.

The 76-year-old performer recently announced the release of his new studio album The Tears of Hercules which will feature twelve new songs, nine of which have been penned by Stewart himself.

Rod Stewart famously played Dublin's RDS Arena in 1995, where fans at the time were treated to live performances of classics like Do Ya Think I'm Sexy?, Maggie Mayr, and The Motown Song.
