Rockets wear Houston Astros’ attire for flight to Washington D.C.

While the Washington Nationals are in Houston to face off with the Astros in Tuesday night’s World Series Game 6, the Rockets are in Washington preparing for the Wizards’ home opener on Wednesday.

To show their support for the main event back home, Rockets’ players dressed for Tuesday’s flight in orange, blue, and white baseball jerseys of various Astros’ players. It’s an impressive gesture from the Rockets, particularly since they happen to be in the Nationals’ home city!

It also continues the theme of solidarity between the city’s professional sports franchises, since players on the Astros have routinely worn Rockets jerseys during the last two NBA postseasons to show their support for Houston’s basketball franchise.

The Astros currently lead the World Series by a three games to two margin. If the Nationals win Game 6, Wednesday’s Rockets-Wizards game would run simultaneously with World Series Game 7.

And if the Astros can close out the series Tuesday and secure their second championship in three years, the Rockets — by pure coincidence — will have an opportunity to rub salt in the wound for D.C. sports fans on the very next day.
