The Houston Rockets set a new franchise record with 28 made 3-pointers in Monday’s 136-106 blowout victory (box score) at Oklahoma City.
The Rockets connected on an astonishing 28-of-52 (53.8%) from behind the 3-point arc, with DeMarcus Cousins hitting the late shot that gave Houston a new team record. The 28 made 3-pointers was just one shy of the all-time NBA mark for cumulative treys in a single game.
The Rockets got off on the right foot by making 11 3-pointers in Monday’s historic fourth quarter, which tied the NBA record. They scored 48 points in that frame, which matched what they did two nights earlier in New Orleans and is tied for the third-most in a quarter in team history.
Cousins and Eric Gordon each made 5-of-9 treys (55.9%) off the Houston bench. John Wall and Danuel House Jr. both connected on four 3-pointers, while Victor Oladipo hit three and Christian Wood and PJ Tucker each hit a pair. Complete highlights can be viewed below.
For the Rockets (10-9), it was their sixth consecutive victory, which continues a season-long winning streak. Houston will return to action against those same Thunder (8-11) on Wednesday night.
