Rockets move up to 3rd in Western Conference standings, all but clinching home-court advantage

The Houston Rockets demolished the Sacramento Kings on Tuesday night, 130-105.

In the process of getting their 50th win this season, they also tied their own NBA record with 26 made three-pointers.

Provided the Rockets don’t lose to the New York Knicks or the Phoenix Suns going forward, they would clinch home-court advantage in round 1 of the 2019 NBA playoffs.

At 50-28, the Rockets are now .5 games ahead of the Portland Trail Blazers for the 3rd seed. Golden State is the 1st seed and the Denver Nuggets is the two seed.

Houston’s final games this season are at the Los Angeles Clippers, at home vs. the Knicks and then the Suns, and then they close out the season at Oklahoma City.

What’s crazy is after hitting the 11-14 mark in December 2018, they have won 39 games and lost just 14.

Wednesday’s matchup against the Clippers will certainly be good: at 17-4 and 15-4 respectively, Houston and L.A. own the NBA’s best records since the All-Star break.
