Rockets launch daily online auction to support local COVID-19 relief

The Houston Rockets and the Clutch City Foundation are launching a “Rockets Give Back” online auction drive to support local COVID-19 relief efforts. The auction is presented by AT&T SportsNet Southwest.

Starting Thursday, May 14, fans will be able to generate relief funds by bidding on featured items each day via the Rockets’ mobile app.

The daily auction will feature autographed pieces by some of the franchise’s greatest teams and players, according to the Rockets. Players to be featured will include Hakeem Olajuwon, Yao Ming, James Harden, Tracy McGrady, Moses Malone, Clyde Drexler and more.

Auctions will also have classic collections of limited edition bobbleheads, such as Travis Scott and “Jedi” Harden, along with special experiences.

Initial featured items are an autographed 1996-97 Olajuwon jersey, along with signed game-issued shoes from Dikembe Mutombo.

Fans can also buy a personalized audio recording by play-by-play announcer and Toyota Center public address voice Matt Thomas.
