If you haven’t followed the story of Houston Rockets center Christian Wood, you might not know the big man went from undrafted out of UNLV to shuttling between the G League and five NBA teams (the 76ers, Hornets, Bucks, Pelicans and Pistons, where he finally blossomed in 2020) before landing with the Rockets and ascending to stardom.
It’s possible Shaquille O’Neal had not followed Wood’s tale over the years, because when the Rockets center joined Inside the NBA, he immediately apologized for not being “familiar with [his] game.”
Wood’s response?
“Aw, man you’re a casual!” he said with a chuckle. Shaq responded by saying he was proud of Wood:
