Rockets’ Big 3 shine behind Chris Paul’s fire night, down T-Wolves 117-102

When the Rockets’ “Big 3” are clicking on all cylinders, there’s really no stopping them.

In helping the Houston Rockets take down the Minnesota Timberwolves Sunday night, Chris Paul dropped 25 points on six-of-seven from three-point range (eight-of-12 overall). CP3 also added in 10 assists and seven rebounds and was +26 for Houston.

But, insanely enough, Paul didn’t have the highest +/- for the Rockets — it was Clint Capela, at +27, who scored 20 points on eight-of-11 shooting. Capela also added 13 rebounds and two blocks.

And then, of course, there was James Harden, who played despite having a cervical strain. He scored only 20 points (8-24 FG, 4-12 3s, 0-0 FT) for the second time in five games — but the game did mark his 45th game in a row with 20 points or more. Harden, playing just 32 minutes, was +20.

Eric Gordon was +25 with 12 points, which were scored from beyond the arc. And PJ Tucker was +19 with eight points.

In fact, all five starters were in the plus of the +/-. Hey, we like that!

All in all, the Rockets drained 21 threes en route to a 117-102 win over the T-Wolves and now move to 44-26. They’re sitting solo in third place in the Western Conference, and making serious moves for the No. 2 spot.

The Rockets are a staggering 11-2 since the All-Star break.
