Rockets at Suns: Prediction, point spread, odds, over/under, betting picks

The Houston Rockets finish up their three-game road trip with a visit to Phoenix on Monday night to face the Suns, led by the All-Star guard duo of Devin Booker and Chris Paul. If you’re looking to do some last-minute betting research, you’re in luck! We’ll give you the latest point spread, moneyline odds and over-under number, as well as the information you’ll need to make the smartest bet on BetMGM.

Monday’s game tips off at 9 p.m. Central and can be seen on Houston’s local television affiliate, AT&T SportsNet Southwest.

The rebuilding Rockets (14-39) played well last week at home, including a surprising victory over Dallas and a much closer-than-expected loss against these same Suns. However, they weren’t able to take that success with them on the road, as evidenced by a pair of resounding defeats over the weekend at Los Angeles (Clippers) and Golden State.

While Houston has the second-worst record in the Western Conference, Phoenix (37-15) is second-best in the West. They also enter Monday’s game with considerable momentum, having blown out Washington by 28 points (recap) on Saturday night.

The lines, courtesy of BetMGM

  • Point spread: Suns -12.5
  • Money line: Suns -800 / Rockets +550
  • Over-under: 227.5
  • Player point props (over or under): Devin Booker 28.5, Chris Paul 15.5, DeAndre Ayton 15.5, Mikal Bridges 12.5, Jae Crowder 10.5; John Wall 21.5, Christian Wood 19.5, Kevin Porter Jr. 14.5, Kelly Olynyk 12.5, Jae’Sean Tate 10.5

Advice and prediction

It seems doubtful that the Suns will take the Rockets lightly, given how close Houston came to defeating them seven days earlier. Houston will also be missing a key difference maker from that game, with veteran guard Sterling Brown — who shot 16 points on 85.7% shooting last Monday — out for Monday’s game with left knee soreness.

The Rockets will have John Wall in the lineup, which they did not in last week’s meeting versus the Suns. However, his presence wasn’t enough on Saturday at Golden State, and it may not be on Monday, either, against a Phoenix squad that should take the Rockets more seriously.

Prediction: Suns 125, Rockets 111
