It sounds like things got pretty up close and personal on the set of Rocketman.
The upcoming Elton John biopic Rocketman portrays the romantic relationship between the musical legend and his manager John Reid .
Now star Taron Egerton has spoken to Attitude on bringing the love story to life alongside co-star Richard Madden , who plays Reid in the film, having already spoken about the prospect of the film Rocketman star Taron Egerton on straightwashing: "That's not what we did" .
"I think it’s very beautiful and something we are quite proud of, the version of the film we shot," said Egerton.
The actor spoke about how the film brings to life the moment that John lost his virginity.
"This is the scene of Elton losing his virginity and we wanted to try to do that justice. I treat it with the same love, care and affection I would as if it was my first experience of falling for somebody.
"The rawness of that experience, the fear of that experience, but also the joy of the experience of Elton’s first kiss… it’s electric, it’s exciting, your stomach is doing somersaults."
He added that it meant he very intimate in the scenes with Madden, according to noise11.
"I felt Richard’s penis… on my leg. I don’t really know how much further we could have gone."

Egerton also discussed why it was so important to capture John's essence and embrace his gay identity.
"I would not have played this character if: one, I wasn’t allowed to show Elton being a nightmare, because he has been; two, if we weren’t able to explore his drink-and-drug addiction because I don’t think you can tell a story without it; and three, if I didn’t think we could make a film that the gay community would watch and feel a sense of ownership over.
"What right do I have to play Elton John if I am not going to go the same lengths to portray a gay relationship as a gay actor would?"

The Kingsman star revealed he is grateful for the role and that John wanted him in the movie to start with.
"The way I feel about it is that Elton asked me to play in a movie about his life. I am proud and privileged to be playing this person who happens to be gay."
Rocketman is released in UK cinemas on May 24, 2019.
