Rocket Lab has called off the launch of its Electron rocket’s first commercial flight, which was scheduled to take place on Saturday.
After the postponement, the US based company said on Twitter: “The flight was canceled today.”
For his part, Rocket Lab CEO Peter Beck said in a tweet: “Electron is healthy but we have not been able to resolve an issue with one of our down range tracking dishes in the Chatham Islands.”
The Rocket Lab stated on Friday that it is preparing to launch its first fully commercial flight around the orbit.
The company announced via Twitter that preparations for the flight were ready. The company has offices in the United States and New Zealand.
The German news agency reported that the firm would launch a rocket in a mission dubbed “It’s Business Time” on Saturday at 12:30 local time (00:30 GMT) after adjourning the initial launch date in April due to technical problems.
The 17-meter rocket was supposed to be launched from the launch pad 1, the first orbital launch site owned by a private company in the world, located at the southern tip of the Mahia peninsula in New Zealand's North Island.
