Rockers 'The Fratellis' axe Lanarkshire gig due to COVID-19 cases

Scottish rockers the Fratellis have axed two shows after positive COVID-19 tests among the band and their crew - and that includes their show in Rutherglen.

The 'Chelsea Dagger' hitmakers were slated to play Dundee and Rutherglen this week, but shows have now been pulled.

In a statement the band wrote: "The Fratellis are disappointed to announce that their shows in Dundee and Rutherglen this week have been cancelled due multiple cases of COVID-19 among the band and crew."

Jon Fratelli said: "We’re gutted to have to cancel the last two shows of this tour as we’ve had so much fun over the past month getting back out and playing to crowds again. Hopefully we’ll get back on the road as soon as everyone is fit and healthy again."

Earlier this year the band told Lanarkshire Live : "We have missed playing live a lot, it is what we as a band know best."

Ticket holders should contact their ticket provider for a full refund.
