The PSNI has confirmed that a man has died following a road traffic collision in Derry.
The crash occurred on the Rock Road and was reported to the police just before 5.50am on Thursday (July 23).
A PSNI spokeswoman said: "The sole occupant of the vehicle was taken to hospital where, sadly, he was pronounced dead."
Inspector Rory Bradley is appealing to anyone who witnessed the collision, or anyone who captured it on their dash cam, to contact police on 101, and quote reference number 218 of 23/07/20.
Sinn Féin MLA Karen Mullan expressed sympathy following the death of a man in the Northland Road area this morning.
The Foyle MLA said: "This death is a tragedy and will bring sadness to all those involved.
"Any death on our roads is one too many.
"I want to express my sympathy to the friends and family of the man who lost his life at this sad and difficult time."
