Rochelle Humes says 'that took a turn' as she's left gagging by ITV This Morning viewer who was left 'sick' by Phillip Schofield

Rochelle Humes almost rushed off the This Morning set when she started to gag during a phone-in. The presenter was back fronting the ITV show on Wednesday (April 19) as she continues to fill in for Holly Willoughby who was struck by illness before her planned return.

She was presenting the mid-week edition of the programme alongside Phillip Schofield when they were joined by The Speakmans. Nik and Eva were back live in the studio alongside the hosts to take viewers' calls on phobias and were on hand to offer their expert tips.

But the couple and Rochelle and Phillip were all left speechless and visibly bewildered when a caller know as Colin, shared his unusual phobia of ears.

He explained that he has been terrified of other people's ears, and even his own ears, since he was a child. He appeared to believe that the phobia stemmed from his mother's obsession with cleanliness and admitted that he has been unable to get a haircut in over twenty years due to the fact he hates his ears so much and doesn't want them to be seen or touched.

Colin went on to confirm it was everybody's ears he was petrified of, not just his own, and that he couldn’t even hold the phone up to his head and had to speak to them on the show via hands-free.

He then surprisingly commented: "Your ears make me sick," to Phillip, adding it would be "very, very difficult" to touch his own ear. But after Nik and Eva spoke to him to find what they thought was the root of his fear - his mum - they tasked him with touching his own ear.

However, he was left loudly gagging down the phone leaving Rochelle in particular visibly horrified. "That’s not a brilliant reaction," Phillip remarked after scrunching up his face as his co-star wriggled around in her seat at the noise.

Trying to move on, Phillip, 61, added: "I think he was at the beginning of that, he was just getting started." Rochelle, 35, soon admitted: "That took a turn didn’t it!" to which Phillip replied: "You just never know."
