Rochelle Humes says 'finally' as she reveals what she and husband Marvin can do after his career announcement

Rochelle Humes has shared her pride for husband Marvin Humes as he made a big career announcement. But the This Morning host also jokingly shared her relief as there is now one specific thing they can do together.

Marvin, who is famed for being one quarter of boyband JLS, may also been known for hosting the late night show on Capital. But the DJ and TV star has announced he is stepping away from his role on the station after an impressive 10 years - and his replacement has already been announced.

From January, the Capital Late Show will be hosted by Sonny Jay, who fans will know from the Capital Breakfast show with Roman Kemp and Sian Welby as well as winning Dancing On Ice.

Marvin, 37, said in a statement: "What a ride it’s been on Capital! It’s been one of the most amazing privileges of my life, but after ten years, it’s time for a new chapter in 2023 at Global. I couldn’t be more thrilled to be handing over the reins of The Capital Late Show to my mate Sonny Jay.

He added: "He’s the nicest guy, an absolute legend and a hugely talented broadcaster. Congrats Sonny, you’ve got this!" Marvin also shared a video featuring clips of him in the Capital studio over the years as well as DJing at the Capital FM Summertime and Jingle Bell Ball, interviewing on the BRITS red carpet and joining Capital in Ibiza.

"What’s up people... 2022 has been a really massive year for me and my family and as I start to look towards the New Year and what 2023 will be bring, it’s got me thinking about how grateful I am for my little crew," the dad-of-three typed alongside the post.

"This summer I celebrated 10 years of marriage, I have 3 beautiful children and I’ve been reminiscing about all of the amazing achievements and moments that being part of the Capital family has allowed me, and do you know what, after 10 years of late nights, Chart Shows, Jingle Bell Balls, Summertime Balls and travelling the world I think it’s time to hang up my Capital headphones and let somebody else have a go.

"It’s been one of the most amazing privileges of my life talking to you every night. A lot has changed and after a decade of getting home at 2am I think Rochy might appreciate a night or two with me. Shout out to Ashley Tabor-King and all my Global family – I’m not going far and you’ll be hearing from me somewhere else soon."

He added: "I couldn’t be more thrilled to be handing over the reins of the Capital Late Show to my mate @sonnyjay he’s the nicest guy, an absolute legend and a hugely talented broadcaster. Congrats Sonny, you’ve got this bro! Thank you for all the support guys, you will never know how much it means to me. Marv x."

Rochelle was quick to respond to her husband's post, writing in the comments: "What a journey… 10 whole years, wow!!! SO excited for your next stop and what 2023 brings." The TV star then added another hidden incentive to wanting her man at home. "But mostly to have you home of an evening….after 10 years we can now actually finish a box set," she added.

Marvin's celebrity pals were also commenting on the post. Sonny said: "Always looked up to you mate.. you’re the most loved man in the building a true gent. It’s an honour to take over your show." Mark Wright replied: " Smashed it Marv. Well done for all of your success." DJ Charlsey added: " Smashed it!!! Not many can say they’ve held a show on radio for 10 years!! Looking forward yo hearing about the next chapter!!"
