By Jessica Sansome

Rochelle Humes started her week by reflecting on the importance of making memories after suffering a personal loss.

The singer turned TV presenter remained quiet on her social media platforms over the festive period.

But Rochelle returned to posting on Instagram at the start of the new year where she told her followers that she's grieving after "losing a loved one" and that she's "holding her little family close".

The 32-year-old and husband Marvin whisked their young family off to the Maldives after Rochelle finished her hosting duties on This Morning and Marvin completed promotion for JLS' new album.

Posting new photos from the idyllic getaway on Monday morning (January 10), Rochelle reflected on the time she has spent with her husband and their three young children - eight-year-old Alai-mai, four-year-old Valentina and one-year-old Blake.

"Every year I leave a little piece of my heart in this beautiful place.." she shared alongside a string of beach images, including one dancing on the sand with her children.

"Feeling truly thankful to have created some more memories with my little gang, life is so short and memories are SO important. I’ll miss dancing on the beach when the sun goes down and not having to wear shoes…

"10 years ago @marvinhumes and I were in the same spot alone celebrating our engagement and now we are a family of 5.."

Rochelle's fans were quick to comment on the post to gush over her 'beautiful family'.

@drkamillaholst wrote: "That’s my Dream family of 5. Such a beautiful family!"

" They’re all so beautiful," @ nikkirowlandsx said.

@paula_love_46 commented: "Family goals."

But when a friend, stylist Amber Jackson said they're a 'perfect little gang', Rochelle replied: "It wasn’t on an 11 hour flight home."
