Rochelle Humes breaks down in tears over man running 27 marathons to save wife's life

Rochelle Humes broke down in tears on This Morning over an inspirational guest's plight to save his wife by raising money through 27 marathons.

Emotional Scott Fisher appeared on the ITV programme today and he spoke about his determination to raise money and awareness about Mast Cell Action.

His wife Megan has the condition amongst others that began after suffering severe sepsis from childbirth three years ago.

Megan had gone from being a national equestrian competitor to being wheelchair bound, needing a feeding tube and 27 pills a day to stay alive.

To help his wife, Scott is running 27 marathons in 27 days and spoke to Rochelle and co-host Vernon Kay on the ITV daytime show.

When he first began the interview, Scott had raised £7,000 on his JustGiving page and hoped to raise £27,000.

This Morning ended up donating £1,000 to help the cause, leaving Scott emotional and the hosts, in turn, wiping away tears.

Scott replied: "You've kind of put me on the back foot there because I wasn't expecting that!"

"I'm going now," Vernon said, pointing at his red eyes as Rochelle agreed: "You've got me now!"

Scott quipped: "I'm not allowed to cry on TV!"

"Well we are," Rochelle replied. "Goodness me! We are so with you, we want you to know. We really, really are and donations aside we will be thinking of you."

But no one expected how generous the public would be following his TV appearance.

At the time of writing this, Scott has raised £100,000.

After discovering the new total, Vernon exclaimed: "That's what it's all about!"

"Thank you so much, this is brilliant," Rochelle said.

Vernon continued: "I hope that doesn't make him run faster as he's going to be shattered!"
