Robson Green spotted filming on Quayside ahead of 'adventure of a lifetime' on Hadrian's Wall show

Robson Green was spotted filming in Newcastle on Monday after teasing fans with news of a new TV show that will see him embark on 'an adventure of a lifetime.'

The former Soldier Soldier and Wire in the Blood star, now best known for his starring role in ITV drama Grantchester, was seen with a camera man on the Quayside.

And his appearance on the banks of the River Tyne, comes after Robson told his Instagram followers about a new series he's doing which will see him travel the full length of Hadrian's Wall.

The 55-year-old joined Instagram last month to the delight of his fans and a few weeks posted pictures of himself hiking and of one of the Wall's most iconic sights - Sycamore Gap - which was famously used in Robin Hood: Princes of Thieves in the early 90s.

He captioned the pictures: "Before I start solving crimes in 1950’s Grantchester ...In training for a new show that involves an 84 mile walk along one of the most iconic creations in the world......Hadrians Wall... got my tent along with my ego inside the bag on my back."

And then, last week proud Northumbrian Robson hinted that the new TV show had been already been an eye-opening experience, posting: "About to Embark the adventure of a lifetime. Filming a new series that involves travelling along the full length of the World Famous ‘Hadrians Wall’.

"Having lived in Northumberland most of my life I thought I knew everything there was to know about the history of the area. How wrong I was!"
