Robroyston Train Station to open this weekend

Glasgow's newest train station, Robroyston, is to open this weekend.

Sandwiched between Springburn station and Stepps station in the north east of the city, the station will serve the Glasgow Queen Street Low Level to Edinburgh (Waverely) line via Cumbernauld. 

The unstaffed station will include step-free platform access, cycle parking, electrical charging points and CCTV coverage.

While there will be two car parks with a total of 258 spaces offering a new park-and-ride facility for people driving into Glasgow along the nearby M80.

The first train will call at the station this coming Sunday (December 15) at 08:37am en route to Edinburgh Waverley from Glasgow Queen Street Low Level.

While the first train heading towards Glasgow in the opposite direction will call at the station at 9:28am and will arrive at Queen Street Low Level at 9:40am.

Sundays will offer residents in the area an hourly connection to Queen Street (leaving at 28 minutes past the hour).

While during the week, commuters will have a half hourly service to Queen Street running from 06:04am to 00:09am.

The station has been just over 15 months in the making and will be Glasgow’s 60th railway station.
