Robin Williams' daughter Zelda shares tear-jerking gesture on late actor's birthday

Zelda Williams has honoured her father, Robin Williams, on what would have been his 69th birthday.

To celebrate her late dad, the actress, 30, revealed she will be donating $69.69 to homeless shelters across Los Angeles.

Robin's proud daughter took to social media to pay tribute to the Good Will Hunting star in the best possible way.

Taking to Twitter, she penned: "Today would’ve been Dad’s 69th birthday, so to honour him (and that glorious number) I will be donating $69.69 to as many local homeless shelters as I can.”

She added: "Join me if you like, but regardless, know I am wishing you all at least one hearty, immature belly laugh on Dad today.”

Zelda later posted all the LA area shelters she made donations to.

Mrs Doubfire icon Robin was an incredibly huge activist for the homeless people of LA before his tragic passing in 2014

According to The New York Times, the much-loved actor would insist on his contract that the company hiring him also had to hire a certain number of homeless people and put them to work.

In this manner, Robin raised millions upon millions of dollars for vulnerable homeless people across the USA.

In May 2014, the Hollywood star was incorrectly diagnosed with Parkinson's disease.

Only in his autopsy did it come to light he was actually suffering from Lewy body dementia - a rare form of the degenerative disease.

Robin was completely unaware he was struggling with an incurable brain disease.

The star has been remembered for his improvisation and memorable voices across his high-profile catalogue of acting roles.

It had a devastating impact on the TV sensation which Dave Itzkoff's new biography Robin shines a light on.

The actor suffered with a dramatic lapse in memory and frequently begun to forget his lines, according to the new book.

At the time the funnyman also suffered with a catalogue of other symptoms from insomnia, heartburn, indigestion, loss of his sense of smell and trouble urinating.

Robin left behind his third wife Susan Schnieder, along with three children from his previous two marriages: Zackary Williams, Zelda Williams, and Cody Williams.
