Robin van Persie tells Manchester United what to do with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer

Robin van Persie has told Manchester United not to sack Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and believes they should keep faith in their current boss.

The Norwegian is under an increasing amount of pressure following United's 2-1 defeat by Istanbul Basaksehir in the Champions League.

That defeat followed on from a 1-0 loss to Arsenal in the Premier League at Old Trafford, with United yet to win at home in the league.

As a result, Solskjaer's position is the subject of much speculation, but Van Persie doesn't think United should axe the Norwegian and called for him to be given time to turn the situation around.

“I’m not a big fan of sacking coaches, I never liked that. In most cases, that’s not the solution to suddenly finding the same team playing great football again," he told BT Sport.

"I’ve said it many times before about Solskjaer, give him time to really implement their ideas and in the end, I’m sitting here to give my opinion, not to judge his way of coaching or whatever.

"I hope they give him time, what’s in it for me for him to lose his job? I don’t want anyone to lose their job.”

United are back in Premier League action this weekend as they take on Everton at Goodison Park.
