Robin van Persie sends Manchester United fans wild with Mason Greenwood comment

Manchester United fans love Robin van Persie's response to yet another goal from Mason Greenwood in the 3-0 victory against Aston Villa.

The 18-year-old was named in the starting XI for the fourth consecutive league fixture by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and has continued to impress on the right wing alongside Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford in attack.

Greenwood took his goal tally for the season to 16 in all competitions with a powerful effort in the first-half against Villa - a strike that is becoming a trademark for the youngster.

As a result of his impressive form and expert finishing ability, Greenwood has been regularly been compared with former United striker Van Persie. The Dutchman responded to an edited picture of the two on Instagram.

He wrote: "Left foot, right foot, no problemo @Mason Greenwood."

Predictably, United fans loved the response of their former forward.

Prior to the game against Villa, Greenwood revealed he is aiming to improve his heading, highlighting he is yet to score with his head in the first-team.

He told MUTV: "Everyone can improve - I don't think there is a limit really.

"My main focus to improve is headed goals.

"I've not scored a headed goal in the first-team yet this season so hopefully it will be nice to get one of them.

"I've scored a few in the youth team but obviously everyone can improve, I can improve myself and I'm not anywhere near where I want to be at this time so there is a lot of work to be done."
