Robin van Persie believes that Mikel Arteta has a clear plan in place at Arsenal but needs time in order to get everything ticking in the right direction.
The Gunners have shown improved work-rate since the Spaniard took charge but have won just one Premier League match, dropping seven points from winning positions during his tenure.
However, the atmosphere around the Emirates Stadium is still positive and it is still very early days in Arteta's reign, with an optimism that things will improve in the coming months.
Van Persie shares a similar opinion, highlighting how he has impressed with Gabriel Martinelli and Nicolas Pepe - two summer signings made by Arteta's predecessor, Unai Emery.
“I think he’s doing well. He’s very clear, during his interviews, and you can see his hand when the team is playing,” he told BT Sport.
“Martinelli I really like, I like Pepe, his big moment was his goal against Manchester United, so hopefully he can kick on.
"They’re not consistent, they have big wins but then the following games they draw or lose points, so they have to find that rhythm.
"I do believe that he needs time.
"You can clearly see his hand, a different rhythm of the Arsenal side playing, on and off the ball they seem to work harder, so you can already see his hand but he needs more time to really get them going, I think."
