Robin van Persie identifies Manchester United's 'fantastic' improvements

Former Manchester United striker Robin van Persie has been impressed by the club's improvements, following an unbeaten streak since the return of football.

After drawing with Tottenham, United have now won back-to-back matches after beating fellow European chasers Sheffield United and sweeping aside Norwich City in the FA Cup.

That has led to an increase in optimism heading into the finale of the season, where the club are fighting for Champions League football as well as hunting glory in the FA Cup and Europa League.

Van Persie has joined the growing list of those attributing praise to the club, identifying the solidness that has been shown in recent performances.

Manchester United looked very steady. They look, at times, very, very good. If you look at the game in midweek versus Sheffield United, they looked fantastic," he told BT Sport.

"If you compare that to half a year ago, they look more compact. They can leave the big guns out against Norwich. You can just tell when Paul Pogba’s playing, Anthony Martial, Marcus Rashford - they go a level up.”

United will discover their FA Cup semi-final opponents later today during half-time of Manchester City's clash with Newcastle United.
