Robin Olsen makes Everton transfer declaration as Blues look to open talks

Robin Olsen has confirmed he hopes to turn his loan move from AS Roma into a permanent switch this summer.

Everton boss Carlo Ancelotti has made no secret of his desire to keep the 30-year-old Sweden international at the club beyond the end of the season.

The Blues are to open talks with Roma over buying Olsen and, now, the goalkeeper has said he wants to stay at Goodison for the long-term too.

“We [Olsen and his family] want to stay, but it is not me who decides,” Olsen said.

“I can only cross my fingers and see what the club says.

“As a family, we have moved around and feel we are in a good place now.

“We are very happy, so why not stay until it is time to move home to Sweden? That is what we would choose.

“It is easy to say that – but everything needs to be sorted out.”

Olsen added: “I knew I would have the competition with Jordan [Pickford] but I have seen if I train well, I will get my chances and if I play well, I will get more chances."
