NEW YORK _ Other than making fun of his twin brother and terrorizing NBA mascots, Robin Lopez doesn't like to create a fuss.
"I never want to rock the boat too much," Lopez said. "My main goal when I'm on a team is to make everybody else's job easier, to help everybody else out. That's my No. 1 priority."
And so, as of Friday, Lopez said he hadn't talked to his agent regarding a potential buyout from the Bulls to join a contending team.
"I'm not worried about that," Lopez said. "While I'm here, I'm going to contribute how I can. I'm going to relish the opportunity. I enjoy playing with these guys. I enjoy being on the floor with them. Any chance I get to play, I'm looking forward to it."
Players have to be waived by March 1 in order to be playoff eligible. Could Lopez's stance change?
"Who knows, man?" he said.
Even if it did, there's no guarantee the Bulls would comply. Speaking at the Advocate Center on Thursday, executive vice president John Paxson reiterated the franchise's dislike of the practice. He did say, out of respect to Lopez's professionalism, that the Bulls would at least have dialogue if Lopez and his agent approach him.
