The NBA fined Robin Lopez $25,000 on Friday for verbally abusing officials and failing to leave the court in a timely manner following his fourth-quarter ejection on Thursday in Miami.
Lopez drew two quick technical fouls with 8 minutes, 43 seconds left in the Bulls' loss to the Heat, their seventh straight. Lopez angrily gestured at officials several times as he was led to the players' tunnel to the locker room.
Lopez told reporters in Miami postgame that he felt the second technical foul got issued too quickly.
"I find it a little frustrating. I understand what they are trying to do when you get that second technical. I understand I should have left the court in a little more hasty manner. I'm trying to get a word in edgewise; obviously they get the last say," Lopez told reporters in Miami.
"It's definitely a system. I screwed up. I'm being penalized as I should be. But I feel like the refs always end up with a last say on things. It's kind of as it should be but we are limited in what we can say."
