Robin Gibb's son vows Bee Gees film is coming with Rami Malek favourite to play dad

Robin Gibb’s son has vowed there will be no Jive Talkin’ in the Bee Gees film – which will tell the iconic band’s story warts and all.

RJ Gibb is developing the project with Graham King, who produced hit 2018 Queen biopic Bohemian Rhapsody.

And the 37-year-old said: “If it were me, I would want everyone to get a full picture of everyone, not only the successes but the pitfalls.”

RJ reckons Rami Malek, 39, who won an Oscar as Freddie Mercury in Bohemian Rhapsody, would be perfect as his dad.

And he fancies Bradley Cooper, 45, as brother Barry.

RJ said: “I have had some talks already with possibly Rami Malek to play my dad.

“When I saw him play Freddie, he reminded me of my father during the Bee Gees’ Massachusetts period [1967].

"I have injected Rami’s name into conversations.

“Nothing is written in stone but I think that would be great. Bradley Cooper is a candidate to play uncle Barry.

"He has been approached and we’ll see.”

Barry, 73, is the last living member of the Bee Gees.

His younger twin brothers Maurice and Robin died in 2003 and 2012 respectively after illnesses, aged 53 and 62.

The Bee Gees’ classic 1977 album Saturday Night Fever remains the bestselling soundtrack of all time.
